Asa (prononcez Asha), de son vrai nom Bukola Elemide, est née à Paris mais a grandi au Nigeria. Entre pop et soul, elle chante en anglais et en yoruba ("asa" veut d’ailleurs dire "faucon" dans cette langue). MTV la choisit comme ambassadrice du Sud de l’Afrique puis elle assure les premières parties d’Akon, John Legend, Beyoncé et Snoop Dogg.
